Victoria Beckham’s representatives have laughed off rumours she is set to star in High School Musical 3: Senior Year - despite the film’s star Zac Efron urging movie bosses to sign her up.

The former Spice Girl and fashion icon had allegedly been slated to play a sexy English teacher in the latest outing of the hit Disney franchise.

And speculation heightened after the lead hunk Efron gave the Brit his backing to land a role in the film, saying, “She (Victoria) is hot, funny - and let’s not forget her success with The Spice Girls.”

However, the move has been dismissed by Beckham’s spokesperson, who insists the star has not been offered a role in the film.

The representative says, “She has not been approached, but the Beckham boys are big fans of High School Musical.”

Beckham isn’t a newcomer to cameo acting roles - she appeared in an episode of hit U.S. show Ugly Betty, playing a diva bridesmaid.

Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale burst into tears while filming her final scenes for High School Musical 3: Senior Year - because she is devastated her part in the franchise is over.

The actress has been involved in all three of the hit teen movies so far, but won’t be playing Sharpay Evans for a fourth time.

And she insists she wasn’t the only one to shed a tear on the last day - her castmates Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Bleu all got emotional too.

She says, “We went into the last day thinking, ‘It’ll all be fine ’cause we’re all really good friends and we’re so close.

“It wasn’t even the last scene - we couldn’t even get through it. We were crying and just so emotional over the whole thing.

“We’re so attached to each other. We’ve had such fun doing these movies. It’s definitely something that’s tough to leave and say goodbye to.”

Tisdale also confirms she is not the only one who will miss out on a further Disney follow-up.

She adds, “I heard they’re going to do a High School Musical 4, but we have nothing to do with it. I think we’re all doing other projects and moving on.”

High School Musical 3

High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be the next installment in Disney’s popular High School Musical franchise. It’s scheduled to hit theatres on Friday October 24, 2008. Kenny Ortega returns as director and choreographer and so do all six primary actors.

Now high school seniors, Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) are facing the prospect of being separated from each other as they go off in different directions when graduating from East High. Joined by the rest of their Wildcat friends, including Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel), Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu), Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman) and Kelsi Nielsen (Olesya Rulin), they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about the future.
